MUKTI PRAYER LINK – JANUARY 2012

Washing One Another’s Feet – A Divine Calling!
(John 13:1-15)

Aren’t we privileged to be called servants of the Lord Jesus - a people set aside or chosen to fulfill a divine calling? Last month, we had a beautiful prayer & thanksgiving day to reflect on God’s faithfulness all through the past year. We broke bread and joyfully performed the Jericho march together, singing and making a loud noise to the Lord, claiming every wall that is built by the enemy will come crumbling down. We also had a ministry of healing which was special. However, one of the most precious acts in God’s sight was the session of washing the feet. It was one of the greatest joys in my life when God’s commandment was put into practice. As I look back at it, two things come to mind

Washing brings refreshing: Many of our staff have been working long hours among the children, young adults and women who are traumatized. To me, washing brought refreshing and newness into one’s life. They can then be returned to their former brightness.

Loving to the highest degree: Jesus wanted to leave an everlasting fragrance among His people. Removing His royal robe and replacing it with a servant’s towel, He showed them the full extent of His love - by bending down and mending their lives.

As we have just stepped into the New Year. Let us, as true disciples of Jesus, carry the attitude of a servant imitating the essence of our Master, who taught us servant leadership. May you enjoy a Christ-centered New Year, full of God’s choicest blessings.
